Service: We as Phi Theta Kappans are committed to
helping our communities. We perform community services such as hosting blood
drives, helping with Habitat for Humanity, providing education forums,
reaching out to youths in after school programs (which we host at Crookshank
Elementary), helping deaf and blind children by working directly with their
school programs to do things like make valentines and throw parties, etc.
Leadership: The types of activities our members participate in today will
prepare a major percentage of participants for a future in leadership.
Creating bright futures is what Phi Theta Kappa is about!
Scholarship: To become a member who is able to vote and hold office, one
must obtain a grade point average of 3.8 or higher and have completed 12
credit hours with his/her school. In order to remain a member of PTK, he
or she must maintain a G.P.A. of 3.25 or higher. All of our members are in
good scholastic standing, which means we have the smartest and most dedicated
students in the school as members of our organization.
Fellowship: Fellowship does not mean friendship, but it usually turns into
that. When we work together as a team, we learn the limitations and dynamics
of each individual Phi Theta Kappan personality. We learn to relate to one
another, which often leads to lasting relationships.
