FloArts alumnus/TV star Cullen Douglas returns for public lecture
Florida School of the Arts alumnus Cullen Douglas will return to the local stage March 9 and 10 and present a special lecture to students on how to break into show business. The lecture is free and open to the public. Douglas is most recognized for his various television appearances, including roles on “Prison Break,” “Private Practice,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “CSI.”
Douglas, who attended FloArts from 1987 to 1989, will answer questions on acting in film, television, and regional theatre. The lecture will also include tips on how to make the transition from college to the professional world. The lecture will be held Monday, March 9 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. and Tuesday, March 10 from 6:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the FloArts Main Stage Theatre at the St. Johns River Community College Palatka Campus.
Douglas’ movie career includes roles in “Shuttle” and “Deadland;” and “Ace Ventura Jr.” releasing on DVD this month.
FloArts is Florida’s first state-supported professional arts school that serves the entire state of Florida and awards the two-year associate degree. For more information, call 386-312-4300.
