COLLEGE SUMMARY
St. Johns River Community College is celebrating 50 years of excellence in education this year. The College was established as a public institution in 1958 to serve the counties of Clay, Putnam and St. Johns.
In 1972, the College's third and current president, Dr. Robert L. McLendon Jr., was appointed. McLendon is the most senior president in the Florida Community College system. Under his administration, the College has focused its attention on increasing the
educational opportunities and expanding services into the community.
The College consists of campuses in Palatka, Orange Park and St. Augustine. Each campus offers students a full-service library, counseling center, computer lab and a busy student center.
The College district is located in Northeast Florida, nestled along the
St. Johns River between Jacksonville
and Daytona Beach.
Clay, Putnam and St. Johns counties offer small-town atmospheres rich in commercial growth and recreational opportunities.
