request an item from another library via Inter-Library Loan (ILL)

If you could not find the book you need from a SJRCC or community college library in LINCC, you may request the book via ILL from a public library or an university library through a worldwide online catalog called WorldCat.

If you could not find the full text of an article through one of our online databases, you may request a photocopy of the article from a library that subscribes to the magazine. To do this, you will need to place an ILL request through an online database called ArticleFirst.

Both WorldCat and ArticleFirst are accessible through FirstSearch. To access FirstSearch, go to the online databases page and click the link (under General) for "FirstSearch Databases (OCLC)."

After logging in, click ArticleFirst to request an article, or click WorldCat to request a book:

Search for the item by title. Once you find the item, click the ill icon icon and follow the on-screen instructions to submit a request for the item.

If you need assistance or wish to check on the status of an ILL request, contact your campus library.
