Interlibrary loan (henceforth ILL) privileges
are extended to currently enrolled SJRCC students, faculty
& staff only.
Borrower must have a current SJRCC Library
card in order for an ILL request to be processed.
Borrower may request up to 9 items at a
time. However, only 6 ILL books may be checked out of the
Library at one time. The remaining books may be used in
the Library or may be checked out when another ILL is returned.
The due date on all ILL materials is determined
by the lending library. A request for renewal must be made
prior to the due date. Renewal requests may not be granted
by the lending library.
Overdue ILL books are a serious matter.
Overdue ILLs are treated as a delinquent account as stated
in the SJRCC Handbook. Once an ILL book is 5 DAYS overdue,
a "hold" will be placed on your college records & your library
privileges will be suspended. If the item is not returned
within 5 working days, your library privileges will be revoked
and your name will be given to the Vice President for Student
Affairs for processing as a delinquent account. When the
overdue ILL is returned, all holds will be lifted & library
privileges reinstated. You are responsible for any late
fees charged by the lending library.
If a borrower has his/her privileges suspended
on two separate occasions as a result of overdue ILLs, ILL
privileges will be permanently revoked.
Lost ILL books must be reported as soon
as it is declared lost by the borrower. The SJRCC Library
will contact the lending library to obtain the price of
the book and any processing fees. You are required to pay
these charges.
If you fail to pay the charges for a lost
item or fees assessed by the lending library for an overdue
item, your library privileges will be suspended, a "hold"
will be placed on your college records and your name will
be given to the Vice President for Student Affairs for processing
as a delinquent account.
