get SJRCC library items

If you find a book or audio-visual item that is located at one of the SJRCC campus libraries, you have several ways to get the item:

1. PICK UP THE ITEM AT THE CAMPUS LIBRARY OF YOUR CHOICE

2. IF YOU ENROLLED IN ONLINE CLASSES ONLY, HAVE THE ITEM MAILED TO YOU

You can also visit other community college or state university libraries and check out items directly from them using your SJRCC library card. To save you the trip, you may request the item from another library and you can pick the item up at your local SJRCC campus.

OPTION 1: PICK UP THE ITEM AT THE CAMPUS LIBRARY OF YOUR CHOICE

You may pick up a SJRCC library item at any campus library; it does not matter what campus owns the item:

  • Use LINCC to find and request the item.
  • The item will be sent to the campus you selected. A library staff member will try to call you at home to let you know when your item has arrived. If you cannot be reached by phone, a notice will be sent to you. You may also call the library during library hours to see if it has arrived.

  • To return the item, simply drop it off at any SJRCC campus library.

OPTION 2: HAVE THE ITEM MAILED TO YOU

NOTE: This service is for distance learning students only. Audio-visual materials, reserves material and interlibrary loans will not be mailed.

If you cannot stop by any of our locations:

  • Use LINCC to find the item.

  • Check the item's location at the bottom. Make sure it says SJRCC.

  • Call the campus library that owns the item:
    • Palatka: (386) 312-4150
    • Orange Park: (904) 276-6830
    • St. Augustine: (904) 808-7474
    Call during library hours only.

  • Tell the staff member that you need an item sent to your home.
  • The library staff member will ask for your name, student ID number and the title of the item.

  • The staff member will then confirm that you are enrolled solely in online courses and will also confirm your mailing address.

  • If you have a valid library card for the current semester and are currently enrolled in online courses, the item will be checked out to you and sent to you via U.S. mail. Allow time for delivery accordingly.

  • To return the item you may mail it back to the library at your expense or drop the item off at your nearest SJRCC library.
