Your SJRCC library card, library Borrower ID and library PIN number are the keys to accessing library and computer lab resources.

STUDENT LIBRARY CARD
If you are currently enrolled in classes at SJRCC, either on campus, via distance learning, or through dual-enrollment, you may be eligible for a student library card. With a student library card, in addition to checking out library materials, you can access our online databases and use the campus computer labs. Your SJRCC library card is also accepted at all of Florida's community college and university libraries.

Students should get a photo SJRCC Student ID at the campus Student Center. If you have a photo SJRCC Student ID card, that card may also serve as a library card after a library card application has been approved. Once approved, a barcode and a "Term Valid" sticker will be affixed to the back of your photo SJRCC Student ID card.

If you do not have a photo SJRCC Student ID card, you will be informed by library staff of the availability of the photo SJRCC Student ID card. A paper SJRCC student library card will be issued to you in the interim, allowing immediate access to library and computer lab resources. Paper library cards will also be issued to distance learning students.

Student library cards are valid for the current semester only. While the photo SJRCC Student ID card is valid for several years, the library privileges associated with the card are not. Library privileges must be validated each semester and expire and the end of each term.

To receive a student library card, associate library privileges with a SJRCC photo ID or to validate an old library card for the current semester:

+ You must be registered for classes during the current semester.

+ Your account must be in good standing; if you have outstanding fees or library obligations, a card will not be issued or renewed.

+ Your registration must be verifiable using the SJRCC student database (Banner). Students who do not appear in Banner must provide a registration receipt.

If you meet the above criteria, you may apply for a new student library card or request to have an old card validated for the current semester.

To apply in person, visit your local campus library.

You may also apply for a SJRCC student library card by email or phone. Upon verification of your registration and account status, a student library card will be issued and mailed to you. Your Borrower ID number will be supplied to you via email or over the phone so you may begin using our online resources immediately. If you update an existing card and plan to use the campus computer labs, you will still need to stop by the library to get the current semester's sticker placed on your card.

LIBRARY BORROWER ID
The 14 digit barcode number from your library card is your Borrower ID and, like the card, is valid during the current semester only. The Borrower ID is required for online database access, requesting items from other libraries and using the myAccount feature.

LIBRARY PIN NUMBER
Once you have received your library card, a PIN number will automatically be generated by our computer system. PINs are usually generated overnight; if you need it sooner, please let a library staff member know and one will be manually created for you. Your PIN number is the last four digits of your social security number. You may change your PIN number using the myAccount feature.

OTHER LIBRARY CARDS
The St. Johns River Community College Libraries serve not only currently registered students, but state university students, St. Leo students, other community college students, dual-enrolled students, community patrons, and local educators. For information about obtaining one of these cards, please refer to our Circulation Services Policy Manual (pdf file) or contact your local campus library.

PLEASE NOTE: Other community college students and state university students may not use the SJRCC computer labs or request ILLs through SJRCC. State university and St. Leo students cannot access online databases using the SJRCC card. Local educators and community patrons do not have access to the online databases, campus computer labs, reciprocal borrowing or inter-library loan. The local public library provides databases, computing and ILL services for these groups.
