Policy on Academic Integrity (SJRCC 2007-2008 Catalogue)

“The pursuit of scholarly activity, free from dishonesty, fraud, or deception, is essential to the mission of the College and to the full exercise of academic freedom. Cheating, plagiarism, fabrication of information or citations, and other forms of unethical conduct compromise the quality of education and will not be tolerated. Infractions may result in penalties or sanctions beyond those             imposed by an individual faculty member” (23).

Make Up Work:

In the event of a documented emergency, you may make up 1 test. You may only make up 1 quiz, regardless of circumstances, so try not to miss those.

Because syllabus dates are tentative, you will need to keep up with changes as they occur in class.  You are responsible for material missed in the classroom, including handouts, so find another student from whom you may get information and handouts right away—the “buddy system.”

 Attendance:

As stated in the 2007-2008 SJRCC College Catalogue, “Regular and prompt attendance is expected and required. Excessive absences may subject the student to administrative withdrawal, a loss of quality points, loss of credit, or dismissal from the College” (23).

Do not come into class late except in the event of an emergency.

If you miss the equivalent of three 50 minutes hours of this class, I have the option of initiating your withdrawal from the course. However, if you wish to drop the course, either do so or contact me and I'll complete the paperwork for you. While school policy states that students may be dropped for non-attendance, it is your responsibility to see to it that you are dropped if you wish to be.

Children are not allowed in the classroom.
