To help the

and exercises.
To prepare the

balance between safety and commitment.
Attendance is mandatory in accordance with SJRCC
policy. Excessive absences will result in a lowering of the student's final
grade, or removal from the class.
Students are responsible for making up work missed due to absences.
Absences on test or performance days cannot be made up except through prior
arrangement with the instructor. Excessive lateness or disruptive behavior will
also result in a lowering of the student's final grade. Due to the participatory nature of the subject matter any student with
an excess of 5 absences will receive an automatic F.
Class Participation: Stage movement requires participation, therefore 20% of the grade will be based on
attendance and participation in class. An additional 30% of the grade will be
based on successful execution of daily assignments and exercises done in class.
Homework assignments will be counted in this portion of the grade. In addition
to his or her success in achieving the goal of any given exercise, the student
will be evaluated on a willingness to perform the exercises, commitment to
achieving the daily objectives, energy, concentration, preparedness, and
discipline.
Dress and Hygiene: The student will need to dress in
clothing appropriate to a movement class (i.e. sweats, leotards, tights,
exercise apparel, tennis shoes etc...).
Due to the close physical interaction between students, good personal
hygiene is ESSENTIAL. Also,
please be aware that long fingernails and jewelry can pose a safety hazard to
the members of the class. Any student
whose attire prevents him or her from fully participating in class activities
will receive an F in class participation for that day.
