Looking Back, Moving Forward
Celebrating 50 Years of Education and Enrichment!
On February 25, 2008, St. Johns River Community College kicked off its 50th Anniversary Celebration - 50 years to the date when the College was officially opened for organizational purposes.
Over the past five decades, SJRCC has grown into one of Florida's fastest growing community colleges. Throughout this academic, technical and cultural explosion, we're proud that we have not lost sight of the College's original vision - the strengthening of our communities and enhancement of the educational and cultural experience for all.
Since the fall of 1958 when the College opened its doors in Palatka to 191 students, SJRCC has since opened locations in St. Augustine, Orange Park and Ponte Vedra Beach and offers an array of programs from computer science to musical theater.
Whether you are a recent graduate, a distinguished alumnus, or a beloved friend of the College, we're glad you are a part of our success and encourage you to take part in celebrating our 50th anniversary.
We ask that you help us continue this tradition of growth and enrichment as we look back at the last 50 years and move forward into a promising 50 more.
Sign up for the SJRCC Alumni Association and join the anniversary reception in May. Contact the SJRCC Foundation by phone at (386) 312-4100 or by e-mail: meghandeputy@sjrcc.edu for more information.
