Looking Back, Moving Forward
Celebrating 50 Years of Education and Enrichment!
On February 25, 2008, St. Johns River Community College kicked off its 50th Anniversary Celebration - 50 years to the date when the College was officially opened for organizational purposes.
Since the fall of 1958 when the College opened its doors in Palatka to 191 students and 12 faculty members, SJRCC has since opened locations in St. Augustine and Orange Park and offers an array of programs from computer science to musical theater.
On May 9, 2008, St. Johns River Community College held its 50th Anniversary Reception for more than 350 guests. Attendees included a myriad of guests, from alumni Federal Judge Steve Merryday and Palatka Mayor Karl Flagg to retired faculty members Elizabeth Gibson and Brian Michaels to Clay County Commissioner and alumni Chereese Stewart.
